About the Project

The Kilim Museum is a museum designed for the Sivas Governorship that tells the tradition of kilim and carpet weaving from production to motif.

The exhibition presents the process spanning from the processing and dyeing of wool to weaving through objects; looms and hand tools set the stage. A wall deciphers the language of motifs through sequential kilim samples.

Maps and panels place the kilim tradition within the geography of Sivas; carpets on the floor and display cases bring visitors face to face with the product itself.
