Mudanya Clock Tower

About the Project

Mudanya Clock Tower is a monumental clock tower designed for Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, adding a new symbol to the town square.

The tower was conceived as a dark stone volume with its natural texture preserved. In its upper section, there is an illuminated numbered clock, while the middle section features the municipality signature. The tower itself is a simple volume; it derives its character from the texture of its surface and light.

At sunset and night, the warm light casting upward from the base of the tower highlights the stone texture, while the clock face shines as a landmark legible from a distance. The surrounding palm trees and seating elements turn the tower into a walking stop.
